PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Description
The Kokomo 32 inch dual fuel pizza oven is a stainless steel oven on its own stainless cart that burns two ways: a 35,000 BTU gas burner with electronic ignition, on natural gas or propane, or a wood fire, lump charcoal or pellets on the same ceramic brick floor. Choose the gas type above; the oven is otherwise identical. It runs to 800°F, vents through a 30 inch stainless flue with a damper, catches its ash in a slide out tray, and comes with the cart, a four piece tool kit and a built in temperature gauge in the box. Kokomo Grills builds it in 304 stainless and backs it with a lifetime limited warranty on the stainless construction. Crustify is an authorized Kokomo dealer, and every Kokomo oven ships free by freight.
What the Kokomo does that the other hybrids on this site do not is roll out of the crate ready to cook with nothing to buy. The cart is included, the tools are included, the gas hose is included, and the oven lifts off the cart later if you build an island around it. It is the most affordable gas and wood oven we carry with a floor this size, and the one to look at if you want a fire on Saturday and a gas preheat on Tuesday without a masonry project or a counter to cut. This page covers the two fuels, how the oven is built, the cart, the built in option, cooking and cleaning, how it compares to the other hybrids we carry, and what to know before you order.

Gas on a Tuesday, Wood on a Saturday
Kokomo's own description of the oven is two sentences long: it is engineered with high temperature ceramic bricks that heat the entire surface, and you can use wood, lump, pellets and more. The gas burner is the part that makes it a weeknight oven. Turn the knob, press the igniter, and 35,000 BTU of flame heats the bricks from below with no fire to build and nothing to feed; when the pizzas are done, turn it off. The wood side is the part that makes it a weekend oven. Lay a fire on the floor at the back or side of the chamber, light it by hand, and the same bricks come up on wood heat with the smoke that comes with it. Lump charcoal and pellets work the same way for a cleaner burn or a longer one. Either fuel brings the chamber to 800°F, which is the range a thin crust needs to blister in a couple of minutes.
Natural gas, KO-PIZZAOVEN-NG
Fixed piping to the oven, run by a licensed gas installer with a shutoff you can reach; the gas hose is included. The cart's tank holder goes unused and the oven stays where the line is.
Propane, KO-PIZZAOVEN-LP
A standard 20 lb cylinder sits in the holder at the base of the cart, so the oven and its fuel roll together. Close the cylinder valve after every cook and leak test the hose with soapy water each time the tank is changed.
How the Kokomo Is Built
The oven is a 304 stainless box, the grade that stands up to weather and does not rust through, with a ceramic brick floor and an arched chamber about 29 1/2 inches wide, 25 inches deep and 29 1/2 inches tall at the dealers' published dimensions. The bricks are the point: they soak up heat from the burner or the fire, hold it, and give it back into the dough from underneath, which is what gets the bottom of a pizza done at the same time as the top. Kokomo says they heat the entire surface, and the floor is big enough for two pizzas or a pizza and a cast iron pan, which Kokomo suggests for fish and steak, with room to bake bread or brownies in the heat that is left.
A stainless door with a wood handle closes the mouth for baking, roasting and holding heat between pizzas. The temperature gauge on the oven face reads the chamber so you know when to launch without opening the door. Ash from a wood, lump or pellet fire drops into a clean out tray that slides out from under the chamber once the oven is cold, which is the difference between a wood oven you use every week and one you use twice a summer. Everything on the oven, the door, the flue, the cart and the tools, is stainless.
The flue and the damper
A 30 inch stainless flue rises from the top of the oven and carries smoke and heat up and away from the cook, with a damper to open wide while the oven climbs and close part way to hold a temperature once it is there. On the cart the top of the flue stands about 80 inches off the ground, which is the number to check against a pergola or a porch roof before you decide where it lives.
The Cart Is Part of the Oven
Most ovens in this class sell the stand separately. The Kokomo's cart comes in the crate and is built as a workstation: a propane tank holder at the base, a handle on each side to steer it, casters underneath, a side tool rack, and four stainless hooks for the peel, brush and server so they hang where you reach for them. The whole oven on its cart is about 32 inches wide, 28 deep and 170 lb, light enough for two people to roll into a corner of the patio and roll back out when guests come.
The four piece tool kit
In the box with the oven: a 30 inch stainless brush with brass bristles for sweeping the bricks, a 30 1/2 inch stainless pizza peel long enough to reach the back of the chamber, a pizza cutter and a pizza server. That is the set most buyers would otherwise add at checkout, and it is why the Kokomo is ready to cook the day it lands.
Freestanding Now, Built In Later
Kokomo's dealer copy says the cart is included and the oven can be used as a built in, and that is the second life this oven has. Buy it on the cart now, cook on the patio for a season, and when the outdoor kitchen is built, lift the oven off the cart and set it into the island with the flue through the counter above. The oven on its own is about 32 inches wide, 28 deep and 47 inches tall without the stack per the dealers' dimensions. Before you frame the opening, send us the plan: Kokomo has not published clearances or a built in cutout, so we confirm them with Kokomo for your layout before you cut, and the gas line and the flue route have to be in the drawing.
Cooking in the Kokomo
On gas, preheat with the door on and the damper open until the gauge reads where you want it, then open the door, sweep the bricks, launch, and turn the pizza every thirty seconds or so until the crust is blistered; at the top of the range that is a couple of minutes. For bread and roasts, bring it up, turn the burner down, and let the closed door and the bricks do the work. Our pizza oven temperature guide covers what each reading on the gauge is good for.
On wood, build a small fire at the back or side of the chamber, light it by hand, and feed it until the bricks have soaked up the heat; the gauge tells you when, and the damper holds it. Dry, seasoned hardwood split small is what burns clean, and our pizza oven wood guide covers the species. Lump charcoal is the same routine with less smoke and a longer, steadier burn for roasting; pellets light fast and burn hot in a small pile. Sweep the bricks before each pizza and let the ash fall to the tray. If you are still weighing wood against gas, wood fired vs gas lays the trade out, and this is an oven where you do not have to decide before you buy.
Clean up is the tray and a brush. When the oven is cold, slide the ash tray out and empty it, sweep the bricks, and wipe the stainless with soap and water with the grain; a stainless cleaner keeps the finish from spotting. Never hose the inside, and keep chemicals off the bricks. Cover the oven between cooks and close the gas at the source.
How the Kokomo Compares
Four ovens on this site burn both gas and wood, and one more is the wood only oven on a cart at a similar price. The Kokomo is the one that arrives with its cart, its tools and its hose in the crate.

The short version: if you want gas and wood in one stainless oven that rolls, cooks the day it arrives and can go into an island later, the Kokomo is the lowest cost way to get there. If the oven is going on an existing counter and never moving, the Summerset is the countertop version of the same idea with a hotter top end. If you want a brick dome and the gas and wood running together, the HPC Forno is that oven at a higher price. Every gas and wood oven we carry is in the Hybrid collection, every oven on wheels is in the Freestanding and Cart collection, and our best dual fuel pizza ovens post ranks them against each other. If you are torn between a cart and a built in, built in vs freestanding is the read, and the Kokomo is the oven that lets you change your mind.
Who Should Buy the Kokomo, and Who Should Not
Buy the Kokomo if you want a gas and wood oven that rolls out of the crate complete, with the cart, the tools and the hose, at the lowest price of any hybrid with a floor this size on this site. It is the oven for the patio with no outdoor kitchen yet, for the family that wants a gas preheat on a school night and a real fire on the weekend, and for the buyer who plans to build an island in a year or two and wants the oven to move into it. It is also the right answer when 170 lb and casters matter, because the oven and its propane tank go wherever the party is.
Do not buy the Kokomo if you want gas and wood burning together; that is the HPC Forno. Do not buy it if you want a finished countertop appliance with no cart; that is the Summerset. Do not buy it for a restaurant or a food truck; it is a residential outdoor oven. And if you know you will only ever burn wood, the Kucht Venice gives you the cart and the fire without the burner you will not use; if gas alone will do and the budget is tighter still, the Halo Versa 16 is the countertop gas oven on this site. Our pizza oven buying guide walks the whole decision.
What to Order With It
Nothing is required. The cart, the tools and the gas hose are in the crate, and the four hooks on the cart are where the peel, brush and server hang. A 20 lb propane cylinder for the LP model and a bag of seasoned hardwood splits, lump charcoal or pellets are the only things to pick up locally. A cover is the one add that pays for itself on any stainless oven kept outdoors; we do not list a Kokomo cover, so ask us and we will point you to one that fits the oven on its cart with the flue. The Kokomo collection has everything we carry from the brand.
Buying the Kokomo From Crustify
Crustify is an authorized Kokomo Grills dealer, so the lifetime limited warranty on the stainless construction applies. The oven ships by freight on a pallet at about 170 lb, delivered curbside with a $95 residential liftgate fee at checkout; a business address with a dock pays no liftgate. Shipping is free in the contiguous 48 states; Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico are quoted before you order. Inspect the crate before you sign and note any damage on the delivery receipt; concealed damage is reported within 48 hours. Returns on an unused oven in its original packaging follow our return policy, with return freight paid by the buyer. Chat and email go straight to the owner and are usually answered the same day; if you are planning the island, send the drawing through our contact page and we will confirm the opening with Kokomo before you build.

INSTALLATION GUIDE & USER MANUAL
Setup. The oven ships assembled on its cart on a pallet. Unpack it, check the door, flue, ash tray and tool kit against the list above, and inspect for shipping damage before you sign. Roll the cart to a level spot outdoors, away from walls and overhangs, with the flue top about 80 inches up; lock the casters. Fit the flue to the collar on top of the oven if it ships separate, and seat the ash tray under the chamber.
Gas. Propane: set a 20 lb cylinder in the holder at the base of the cart, connect the included hose, open the cylinder valve and leak test every joint with soapy water before lighting. Natural gas: have a licensed gas installer run the line to the oven with a shutoff you can reach, then leak test. Never run the oven without its regulator.
First light. Run the gas burner with the door off for 15 to 20 minutes to burn off any manufacturing residue on the bricks and the stainless, then let it cool. Light gas with the door open: knob on, press the igniter, confirm the flame. Light wood, lump or pellets by hand on the bricks and bring the oven up slowly the first few times.
Running it. Preheat with the door on and the damper open, sweep the bricks, launch with the door off, turn often. Close the gas at the cylinder or shutoff after every cook. Empty the ash tray and sweep the bricks when the oven is cold. Cover it between cooks.
Built in. If you move the oven into an island later, lift it off the cart with two people, plan the opening around the oven's 32 by 28 inch footprint and the flue through the counter, keep the gas and the ash tray reachable, and confirm the clearances with us before framing; Kokomo publishes no cutout drawing, so we get it from them for your layout.
Kokomo does not publish a manual or spec sheet for this oven; the dimensions, flue and weight above come from Kokomo's dealer listings, and anything Kokomo confirms for your order is sent with it.
